Endear Care is preparing to open Sandywell House — a small, family-style children’s residential home in Milton Keynes. We are pursuing Ofsted registration to provide trauma-informed, relationship-based care for young people aged 7–17 who need a safe, stable, and nurturing place to call home.

WHO WE ARE
A new standard of care for young people who need it most
Endear Care Ltd is a UK-based residential childcare provider preparing to open Sandywell House — a small, family-style home in Milton Keynes. We are currently in the process of applying for registration with Ofsted under the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed, relationship-based practice. We believe that children who have experienced adversity deserve more than a placement — they deserve a home where they feel genuinely safe, heard, and valued.
Registration Status: Sandywell House is currently subject to a formal application for Ofsted registration. The home will not accommodate any children or commence operations until registration has been formally granted.

Our Care Model
Our model is built on the evidence base for what works with children who have experienced developmental trauma. It is relational, strengths-based, and centred on the individual.
Trauma-Informed Practice
We understand behaviour as communication and respond with curiosity and empathy rather than consequence alone. Every child’s history is taken seriously.
Relationship-Based Care
Consistent, trusting relationships with key workers are the foundation of recovery. Staff continuity and attachment-aware practice are central to our model.
Strength-Based Approach
We focus on what children can do and who they are becoming. Care plans build on interests, talents, and goals — not only needs and risks.
Child Participation
Children have a real voice in their care. From daily routines to care planning meetings, we actively invite and act on young people’s contributions.
Restorative Practice
When things go wrong, we focus on repair and understanding. Restorative conversations help children build accountability and emotional literacy.
Therapeutic Support
We work alongside CAMHS, therapists, and specialists to provide or access tailored therapeutic interventions based on assessed need.
CHILD PROTECTION
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do at Endear Care. We are committed to promoting the welfare of every child and to acting swiftly when there is any concern about their safety or wellbeing.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsible for safeguarding oversight

Every service at Sandywell House is tailored to the individual child — planned through collaborative care planning with the young person, their family, and their placing authority.
24-Hour Residential Care
Safe, responsive, and consistent care around the clock — delivered by a stable team who know and understand each child.
Education Support
Coordinated re-engagement with school, alternative provision, or therapeutic education. Support for SEND and EHCPs in partnership with placing authorities and Virtual School Heads.
Health & Wellbeing
GP, dental, and optician registration; health assessments; access to CAMHS; medication management; and support for healthy lifestyles.
Therapeutic Input
Access to therapeutic and specialist services — including CAMHS, occupational therapy, and psychological support — tailored to assessed needs.
Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support plans, de-escalation, restorative practice, and structured keywork to help children understand and manage their emotions.
Leisure & Activities
Child-led activities, community engagement, and recreational opportunities that build confidence, positive identity, and life skills.

PLACING A CHILD
Referrals
We welcome referrals from local authorities, social workers, and commissioning teams. All referrals are treated confidentially and responded to promptly. Please note: Sandywell House will not accept any placements until Ofsted registration is granted.

What We Cannot Offer
- Secure accommodation
- Placements where risk cannot safely be managed within a two-bed home
- Punitive or institutionally-modelled care
Suitability is always determined through a thorough matching and impact risk assessment process before any placement decision is made.

Initial Enquiry

Information Sharing & Impact Risk Assessment
We review all available information about the young person, carry out a matching and impact risk assessment, and assess whether Sandywell House can safely meet their needs.
Matching Decision
The Registered Manager and Responsible Individual make a formal matching decision. Placements are only accepted where we are confident we can deliver safe, high-quality care.
Pre-Admission Planning
We work with the placing authority, the young person, and their family to plan the admission, ensure appropriate care is in place, and prepare the home before arrival.
Timeline: We aim to acknowledge referral enquiries within 48 hours and provide a placement decision within seven working days of receiving sufficient information. Emergency placements are considered in exceptional circumstances only, subject to Registered Manager and Responsible Individual oversight.
